From July 2nd-July 9th, immigrant youth from San Jose joined students from across California in a fast for the passage of the Dream Act.  The DREAM Act is a federal bill that is currently pending in congress that would provide legal residency and a path towards citizenship for immigrant students. Also, the DREAM Act advocates equal access to higher education, regardless of immigration status. Students and supporters held candlelight vigils as well as they made their presence felt at the San Jose City Hall.

Students held a mock graduation to share the untapped potential of thousands of immigrant youth who were unable to follow a college education.
