On August 27 th community members across San Jose celebrated Community Homelessness Alliance Ministry's (CHAM) annual march to end poverty and demand expansion of governmental programs such as section eight vouchers. Attendees included representatives from labor unions, community organizations, students, and most importantly families that experienced life on San Jose's unforgiving streets. The March began in front of the county building and ended in front of the church home to CHAM on 5th and San Fernando underneath the towering city hall building. Like many of San Jose's past marches, the highlight quickly became about running into old and new friends alike who shared stories about surviving to fight another day.
