Block 2 Block Radio's Chicano Facts of the Week
El Chicano Part 1
The Mexican Immigrant & the Spanish Language

Audio by: The Homeboy Mad
June 17th, 2009

On this week's Block 2 Block Radio's Chicano Facts of the Week, The Homeboy Mad cracks off a series of audio segments tackling the term Chicano. The word Chicano may mean many different thangs to many different people. Paisas, Cholos, Whites, Intelectuals, Activists and even Chicanos themselves all have their own take on what the word really means. This week, The Homeboy Mad hits two key points of the controversial word "The Mexican Immigrant & the Spanish Language".

The segment cracks off with a LIVE recording of a Mexican folk song about our fight in the fields titled "Llegando A Los Files" by Teatro Campasino. The following soulful hitter about the uneasy feeling of an upcoming heart break by Lee Fields is titled "Love Comes & Goes". Next up is none other then El Chicano's "Don't Put Me Down If I'm Brown". The firme spanish cut of "Together" was put down by Tierra. Finally the segment ends with a sweet instrumental titled "Expressions Theme" by The Expressions.
